STEPS OF THE ACTIVITY
Step 1: Instructions
Time: 8-10 minutes
- Ask the students to make a list of people they see as a part of their society: farmers, children, teachers, parents, drivers, house cleaners, grandparents, construction workers, etc. They can choose minimum 6 and maximum 10 roles. They can create a circle as shown in the figure.
- Ask them to discover links between roles. Students must figure out how each is dependent upon the other. They can observe these roles at home for 3-4 days and then create this linking web. For example, the farmer might depend on the construction worker to build a new house or farm and the construction worker might depend on the farmer to produce food for him to eat.
- After observation, students will create a circle with roles and show links for all roles listed. Ask them to try to create as many connections as possible.
Step 3: Debrief (to be done after HW activity is done)
Time: 8-10 mins
Ask students the following questions to debrief the activity:
- Imagine if we remove one or two roles in between. What will happen? (Some needs will remain unsatisfied, chaos, etc.)
- What did we learn from this activity?
Reflection Sheets, Activity Report & Feedback Form
Teachers kindly fill in the feedback form, remind office bearers to fill activity report and remind students also to fill up the reflection sheets.
