Communication, Creativity

Responsibility

Notebooks/available papers, pens

Estimated Time: 10 mins.

  1. Teacher will ask the students the following questions:
  2. What are some of the rules we follow in school?
  3. At which other places do we have rules that we need to follow? (home, hospitals, etc.)
  4. Why do you think we need these rules?
  5. Do we also have any such rules for our country? Where are these rules written?

Take 1-2 responses and summarize.

  1. Teacher will say, “Close your eyes, and imagine a place where you would love to live, your own dream country. Think in your mind – What is the name of your country? What kind of people do you see living there? How is the weather?” Pause few seconds, and then ask them to open their eyes. Tell them that – Let us do a small task at home, where we will create rules for an imaginary country that we dream of.
  2. Explain the homework task with the help of office bearers by writing the underlined words on board.
    1. Give name to their Dream country.
    2. Draw & design your country shape, flag, location on the world map & describe about its general vibe/climate.

Note: Make unique flag/symbols to avoid duplication with any country’s existing flag.

  1. Write about the people of their country (how many people, composition in terms of gender – male/female, what kind of people, how they behave, feel i.e., old, young, happy, angry, etc.)
  2. Write atleast 3 rules that every person in the country must follow. For example – Treat everyone with respect and kindness

Points to note for students:

  • Use available paper/notebook paper.
  • Make sure all components given in HW task are covered – Name of country, country shape, flag, climate, population, and 3 rules. For reference refer to Annexure 1.

Office Bearers can display the Dream Country One pager on Desh Apnayen Wall on rotation basis for everyone to see each other’s response. Please pre-inform the Recap date for students to bring completed homework.

Estimated Time: 15 mins

Office Bearer will ask 2-3 students to be ready for the presentation of their Dream Country. (They can ask for Volunteers, it no one volunteers they can select students and pre-inform. It will be 2-3 mins presentation per person.) Atleast one office bearer should also present.

Ask 1-2 students to share – (if you are unable to remember questions, you can prepare chits.)

  1. How was the experience of creating these rules for your country?
  2. Why do you think it is important for a country to create rules?
  3. What do you think is the purpose of the rule book (Constitution)? (Teacher can answer in summary if students are unable to answer)

Teacher will summarize the key learning points for the activity –

  • Experience of creating rules got us to know that it is not easy to make them, but it also gave us feeling of ownership.
  • Rules help to keep order and discipline in the country and protect everyone.
  • The book where all the rules and laws for the country are written is called the Constitution. It helps to make sure that everyone is treated equally as the same rules apply to all.

For this activity, the following can be updated by office bearers on the wall.

  • My Dream Country – one pager. Office Bearer can ask voluntarily who wants to share or do on daily rotation basis for as many possible.

  • Please make sure that students write down all points that they have to do as HW.
  • Tell students to avoid spending money on buying fancy materials to decorate the Dream Country HW.
  • Annexure 1 can be shown or given to students. Students are free to present as per their creativity

  • For Activity photos, please share clear pictures of -
