ACTIZEN Activity 11

Quiz on Goan Art, Culture and Tradition

Type of Activity – Individual Level Activity

Introduction

Goa is a union territory – it is called the Rome of the East. This region was under the control of numerous rulers including French and British ones. Therefore, Goa is a land of unique culture and interesting heritage with varying forms of entertainment and influences from western culture.

Our theme for activities for this month is Culture and Tradition. In the last activity conducted by our ACTIZENS – a research activity – students got a chance to form groups and do deeper research on different aspects of Goan culture and traditions.

This activity, a follow-up one, will present an interesting quiz to our students so they can assess the knowledge they gained from their research work.

Teachers Section-Steps for the Activity

  1. Ask students to share their experience about the last activity “Pride of Goa”, the area in which their group worked, their learnings, their booklet, how did they find the activity, etc. for 10 minutes.
  2. Explain the next activity to the students in brief. Ask them to click on the given link and attempt the quiz on Goan art, culture, and tradition. Give 15- 20 minutes time to the students.
  3. Display the answers and ask them to self-assess the answers.
  4. Discuss the wrong answers with students, if you have time in class, or ask them to research more about the questions which they didn’t know.
  5. Explain that this quiz is not for scoring but to gain knowledge on aspects which they don’t know about their culture and tradition.
