  1. Assign the task to prepare for Quiz about Constitution of India and its key features atleast 5-7 days before the main activity day. All students must prepare for the Quiz for the following areas. (Office Bearers can copy these areas and put on Desh Apnayen Wall for student’s reference)
    1. Significance of Constitution of India
    2. Fundamental Rights of Citizen
    3. Roles and responsibilities of key bodies mentioned in Constitution
    4. Key features of Constitution in terms of amendments, etc.

Note -They can refer the Grade 8 Chapter 1 of Political science textbook, any other reference books they have, etc to prepare for the quiz.

  1. Teacher will divide the class into as many groups as per the rows of the class to play the quiz. Group members can divide subtopics among themselves to prepare Question bank with answers. Atleast 5 Questions to be prepared by each student. They can be with multiple choice, or direct answer type. Each group needs to select one Group Leader to ensure tasks are completed.
  2. Inform the students date of Quiz when the have the bring the completed HW to school.

  1. Explain the rules of the Quiz given below in detail to the students.

Rules for Quiz -

  • There will be 5-8 rounds of Questions for each row. (Teacher can decide the number of rounds, minimum 15 rounds to be played and maximum 28 rounds)
  • Each group leader will be the Quiz Master from that group.
  • Quiz Master asking the question will get chance to decide who can answer the question. Whichever team has raised the hand first, can get chance. Teacher can support to ensure fair decisions are taken. (Or turns can be taken by each team to answer questions.)
  • Whichever team representative will give the correct response, will get the points.
  • For correct response, 10 points are rewarded. The teacher and class can decide if they wish to include a negative marking of 5 points for incorrect response.
  • No hints or clues from other team members, else the team will not get any point.
  • Office Bearer will be the Score keeper, who update the score in their notes/board after each round.
  1. Begin the Quiz with students by using following steps -
    1. Invite Quiz Masters to be ready with questions to ask.
    2. Quiz Master will read the question and take response from the selected student of the team.
    3. Points will be awarded in case of correct response. Teacher to ensure the correctness of responses.
    4. Continue the Quiz for atleast 5 rounds or as per the time available.
    5. After all rounds are completed, the scorekeeper will declare the result. In the event of a tie between two groups, 2-3 more rounds can be played if time permits.

Note - If the students have not prepared questions, then you can refer to the Questionnaire given in Annexure 1.

NOTE - If time permits, teacher can give Office Bearer opportunity to do conclude this activity as mentioned below. Incase if time is short, invite the office bearer to ask the students – What did they learn from the activity?

Office Bearer will ask the following questions to students to conclude the activity.

  • What did you enjoy the most from this activity today?
  • What are three new facts/values you have learnt from this activity today?
  • Why is it important for our country to have Constitution?

Teacher will summarize the key learning points covered in the Quiz about Constitution of India and its key features based on Quiz discussion.

For this activity, the following can be updated by office bearers on the wall.

  • Quiz Questions with answers (Students have prepared in Home Task)
  • Encourage students to write any key facts of Constitution (optional)

  • Please make sure that students write down all points that they have to do as HW.

  • Activity photos to be shared to engagement officers, please share clear pictures of
    • Main Activity Quiz Questions (2 photos)
    • Office Bearer concluding session. (2 photos)
