November Activity-CONSTITUTIONAL QUIZ

  1. To learn about constitution of India and its key features.

1. Teacher will ask the students the following questions:

  • Who is known as the Father of the Constitution? (Dr. B.R. Ambedkar)
  • How many fundamental rights are given to citizens as per constitution of India? (6)
  • Which year was the constitution adopted? (1950)
  • Which article of Constitution of India deals with Right to Equality? (Article 14)

2. Teacher will then tell responses if students are unable to share. Tell students that in Diwali vacation, we will prepare about Constitution of India and its key features. All students must prepare for the Quiz for the following areas. (Office Bearers can copy these areas and put on Desh Apnayen Wall for student’s reference)

    • Significance of Constitution of India
    • Fundamental Rights of Citizen
    • Roles and responsibilities of key bodies mentioned in Constitution
    • Key features of Constitution in terms of amendments, etc.

Note -They can refer the Grade 8 Chapter 1 of Political science textbook, any other reference books they have, etc to prepare for the quiz.

3. Teacher will divide the groups in which Quiz will be played. Group members can divide subtopics among themselves to prepare Question bank. Atleast 5 Questions to be prepared by each student. They can be with multiple choice, or direct answer type.

Inform the students date of Quiz when the have the bring the completed HW to school.

Points to remember:

  • Use available paper/notebook paper to do HW.

Please pre-inform the date of Quiz to be prepared and bring questions.

Estimated Time: 15 mins.

Office Bearer will divide the class into groups as prepared earlier in the classroom. Then one student will come from each group and ask the question to other group. If they answer correctly, they will get 5 points.

If the students have not prepared questions, then you can refer to the Questionnaire given in Annexure 1.

Teacher will summarize the key learning points covered in the Quiz about Constitution of India and its key features based on Quiz discussion.

For this activity, the following can be updated by office bearers on the wall.

  • Quiz Questions with answers (Students have prepared in Home Task)
  • Encourage students to write any key facts of Constitution (optional)

  • Please make sure that students write down all points that they have to do as HW.

  • Activity photos (2-3) to be shared to engagement officers, please share clear pictures of
    • Office Bearer Recap session – Quiz photos. (2 photos)
    • Desh Apnayen Wall Photos (2 photos)
