October Activity – My Views on Volunteering – Instructions for Students
Section 1 – Explanation Session
Step 1 – Attend the session in the online classroom and watch the videos carefully. There will be a quiz based on the videos and the concept of Volunteering.
Step 2 – Clear any doubts you might have with respect to the theme.
Step 3 - Solve the below quiz and share your thoughts in the classroom during the debriefing session. Answer engaging questions asked by the teachers during the debriefing session.
Step 4 – Listen to the instructions given by the teacher for the offline activity.
Section 2 – Opinion Survey and Story
Step 1 - Read the Information Handout carefully and watch the videos given in the Video Bank (Information Handout).
Step 2 - You should conduct Opinion Surveys with your friends/family members or neighbours using the questions that have been provided here. All of you have to record the responses and prepare a survey submission document. If you are interested, along with the survey submission document, you can also create a small story of 120-150 words based on the answers. The purpose of the Opinion Survey is to understand the kind of volunteering being done by the people you know. Students are advised to conduct call-based Opinion Surveys. Conducting the Survey is compulsory but writing the story is optional.

- What is the purpose of volunteering- getting 'likes' and popularity on social media or achieving self-satisfaction?
- Have you volunteered during COVID times? What was your experience?
- Do you think popularising volunteering will help in creating an active citizenry?
Please prepare a Survey Report for submission. In addition, if you are interested, you can write a story based on your Opinion Survey Experience and upload it.
Step 3 - Prepare before and after pictures wherever possible or make 1 minute videos of each activity that you volunteer for and upload the same along with the Reflection Sheet.
